Rug Doctor Purchasing FAQs
Carpet Cleaner Machine Questions
When I buy a machine does the machine have an hour meter on it?
The blue machines do not have hour meters. The reason for the hour meter is for rental maintenance purposes only.
What is the difference between the red rental Rug Doctor machines and the blue Rug Doctor machines available for purchase?
Millions already know about and have been renting Rug Doctor carpet cleaning machines for years. Now you can purchase the same powerful machine! The red rental Rug Doctor machines and the blue Rug Doctor machines have the same features, the same horse power, and the same amps. The only difference between the two is red machine is for the rental market and has an hour meter on it and the blue machines have Quick Dry and are available for purchase.
Is this a professional grade machine?
Yes, both the Mighty Pro and Wide Track machines are considered professional grade. They are built to last with vacuum power that far exceeds department store models. Many hotels, businesses, resorts, restaurants and even contract carpet cleaning services use the Rug Doctor machine.
How long does this machine really last? How durable is it?
With proper care and maintenance, the machine is designed to last a lifetime. The outside covering of the machine is made of a durable thick plastic that can withstand hits and bumps without cracking. Rug Doctor blue machines are exactly the same as machines you rent from your local store only the colour is different and there is no hour meter. Rug Doctor rental machines stay in circulation for over 10 years before retirement and are rented, transported and used several times a week.
Questions about Purchasing a Rug Doctor
What do I get when I purchase the Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner?
When you purchase a Mighty Pro or Wide Track machine, you receive the machine, the Upholstery kit worth £65.00 with mesh storage bag, and a 2-year warranty.
Why is the Rug Doctor so expensive compared to other carpet cleaning machines?
These machines are not made with the level of power of a Rug Doctor. Some even have motors that are inadequate for heavy duty cleaning. They are made exclusively for home use and are best applied to spot cleaning or for houses with a small amount of carpeting. Rug Doctor has significantly greater capacity, vacuum power, and durability. It was built for whole house carpet cleaning and spot removal.
Does Rug Doctor have a payment plan available?
NO. You must pay for the product in full prior to shipping on this website.
Would I have to wait until the payment plan is paid in full before getting the machine?
Yes. As soon as your payment is processed and posted, we will send the order out to you.
Rug Doctor Warranty Questions
What do I do if it something happens to the carpet cleaner during my warranty? What about after the Warranty period?
If something were to happen to your machine while it is still under warranty, you should first call our Consumer Support line. One of our Sales Staff would troubleshoot the machine to see if the situation is something that can be remedied over the phone. Should the situation be out of the ordinary and require service, you would be directed to take or send your machine to the nearest Rug Doctor certified repair centre. While under warranty, no repairs aside from simple filter or brush replacement and other non-electrical repairs should be done by anyone who is not authorised as a Rug Doctor repair centre. Work done by unauthorised personnel could void your warranty. See the warranty page of this web site for specific coverage information.
If something happens to your machine after the warranty period, you can still call the Rug Doctor Consumer Support line. They're there to help you diagnose problems and if need be direct you to a local Rug Doctor certified repair centre. Rug Doctor does not cover the cost of repairs beyond the period stated in the warranty information.
How long is the Rug Doctor warranty for – can you buy an extended warranty?
You have a 2-year warranty when you buy the machine. At this time we do not offer an extended warranty.
What does the Rug Doctor warranty cover?
Rug Doctor will, without charge, during The Warranty Period, repair or replace, at its option, any component part which is defective or that malfunctions when the machine is returned within the warranty period.
Rug Doctor Maintenance Questions
Would I ever need to get maintenance check ups for my Rug Doctor like the rental carpet cleaners need to have?
No, the difference between your machine and the rental machines is that your machine will not see the heavy use and constant transporting that a rental machine sees. Rug Doctor machines are built to endure the rigours of a rental market. Privately owned machines can last years with only minor maintenance such as filter and brush cleaning or replacement and occasional lubrication of the machine’s quick coupler connection.
